Future Transformer for Long-term Action AnticipationDayoung Gong, Joonseok Lee, Manjin Kim et al.
The task of predicting future actions from a video is crucial for a real-world agent interacting with others. When anticipating actions in the distant future, we humans typically consider long-term relations over the whole sequence of actions, i.e., not only observed actions in the past but also potential actions in the future. In a similar spirit, we propose an end-to-end attention model for action anticipation, dubbed Future Transformer (FUTR), that leverages global attention over all input frames and output tokens to predict a minutes-long sequence of future actions. Unlike the previous autoregressive models, the proposed method learns to predict the whole sequence of future actions in parallel decoding, enabling more accurate and fast inference for long-term anticipation. We evaluate our method on two standard benchmarks for long-term action anticipation, Breakfast and 50 Salads, achieving state-of-the-art results.
GLAD: Global-Local View Alignment and Background Debiasing for Unsupervised Video Domain Adaptation with Large Domain GapHyogun Lee, Kyungho Bae, Seong Jong Ha et al.
In this work, we tackle the challenging problem of unsupervised video domain adaptation (UVDA) for action recognition. We specifically focus on scenarios with a substantial domain gap, in contrast to existing works primarily deal with small domain gaps between labeled source domains and unlabeled target domains. To establish a more realistic setting, we introduce a novel UVDA scenario, denoted as Kinetics->BABEL, with a more considerable domain gap in terms of both temporal dynamics and background shifts. To tackle the temporal shift, i.e., action duration difference between the source and target domains, we propose a global-local view alignment approach. To mitigate the background shift, we propose to learn temporal order sensitive representations by temporal order learning and background invariant representations by background augmentation. We empirically validate that the proposed method shows significant improvement over the existing methods on the Kinetics->BABEL dataset with a large domain gap. The code is available at https://github.com/KHUVLL/GLAD.

Multi-THuMBS: Multi-person Tracking of 3D Human Meshes Beyond Video ShotsJeongwan On, Muhammad Salman Ali, Muneeb A. Khan et al.
Tracking multi-person 3D human meshes from in-the-wild videos is a highly challenging problem due to complex interactions, frequent occlusions, and severe truncation inherent in unconstrained environments. While recent approaches have improved robustness against these issues, they largely overlook the critical challenge prevalent in real-world footage: frequent shot changes. These abrupt transitions in camera viewpoints often cause existing methods to lose track of human identities and fail in reconstructing temporally coherent trajectories. Although several recent works have explored 3D human mesh tracking under shot changes, they are still limited to single-person scenarios, making them inadequate for real-world videos where multiple people interact and appear simultaneously. To address this limitation, we propose Multi-THuMBS (Multi-person Tracking of 3D Human Meshes Beyond Video Shots) that leverages a state-of-the-art 3D scene prior to reconstruct the two boundary frames in a single shared 3D space. Human meshes are then registered within the shared 3D space, maintaining per-person identity and motion consistency across shot changes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach yields significant improvements in 3D human mesh recovery, camera pose estimation, and identity tracking, thereby ensuring high-fidelity motion reconstruction with consistent identity preservation across shots compared to previous state-of-the-art methods.

HERO-VQL: Hierarchical, Egocentric and Robust Visual Query LocalizationJoohyun Chang, Soyeon Hong, Hyogun Lee et al.
In this work, we tackle the egocentric visual query localization (VQL), where a model should localize the query object in a long-form egocentric video. Frequent and abrupt viewpoint changes in egocentric videos cause significant object appearance variations and partial occlusions, making it difficult for existing methods to achieve accurate localization. To tackle these challenges, we introduce Hierarchical, Egocentric and RObust Visual Query Localization (HERO-VQL), a novel method inspired by human cognitive process in object recognition. We propose i) Top-down Attention Guidance (TAG) and ii) Egocentric Augmentation based Consistency Training (EgoACT). Top-down Attention Guidance refines the attention mechanism by leveraging the class token for high-level context and principal component score maps for fine-grained localization. To enhance learning in diverse and challenging matching scenarios, EgoAug enhances query diversity by replacing the query with a randomly selected corresponding object from groundtruth annotations and simulates extreme viewpoint changes by reordering video frames. Additionally, CT loss enforces stable object localization across different augmentation scenarios. Extensive experiments on VQ2D dataset validate that HERO-VQL effectively handles egocentric challenges, significantly outperforming baselines.
Zero-shot Natural Language Video LocalizationJinwoo Nam, Daechul Ahn, Dongyeop Kang et al.
Understanding videos to localize moments with natural language often requires large expensive annotated video regions paired with language queries. To eliminate the annotation costs, we make a first attempt to train a natural language video localization model in zero-shot manner. Inspired by unsupervised image captioning setup, we merely require random text corpora, unlabeled video collections, and an off-the-shelf object detector to train a model. With the unpaired data, we propose to generate pseudo-supervision of candidate temporal regions and corresponding query sentences, and develop a simple NLVL model to train with the pseudo-supervision. Our empirical validations show that the proposed pseudo-supervised method outperforms several baseline approaches and a number of methods using stronger supervision on Charades-STA and ActivityNet-Captions.
