Cascade Prompt Learning for Vision-Language Model AdaptationGe Wu, Xin Zhang, Zheng Li et al.
Prompt learning has surfaced as an effective approach to enhance the performance of Vision-Language Models (VLMs) like CLIP when applied to downstream tasks. However, current learnable prompt tokens are primarily used for the single phase of adapting to tasks (i.e., adapting prompt), easily leading to overfitting risks. In this work, we propose a novel Cascade Prompt Learning CasPL framework to enable prompt learning to serve both generic and specific expertise (i.e., boosting and adapting prompt) simultaneously. Specifically, CasPL is a new learning paradigm comprising two distinct phases of learnable prompts: the first boosting prompt is crafted to extract domain-general knowledge from a senior larger CLIP teacher model by aligning their predicted logits using extensive unlabeled domain images. The second adapting prompt is then cascaded with the frozen first set to fine-tune the downstream tasks, following the approaches employed in prior research. In this manner, CasPL can effectively capture both domain-general and task-specific representations into explicitly different gradual groups of prompts, thus potentially alleviating overfitting issues in the target domain. It's worth noting that CasPL serves as a plug-and-play module that can seamlessly integrate into any existing prompt learning approach. CasPL achieves a significantly better balance between performance and inference speed, which is especially beneficial for deploying smaller VLM models in resource-constrained environments. Compared to the previous state-of-the-art method PromptSRC, CasPL shows an average improvement of 1.85% for base classes, 3.44% for novel classes, and 2.72% for the harmonic mean over 11 image classification datasets. C-LoRA: Continual Low-Rank Adaptation for Pre-trained ModelsXin Zhang, Liang Bai, Xian Yang et al.
Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA) is an efficient fine-tuning method that has been extensively applied in areas such as natural language processing and computer vision. Existing LoRA fine-tuning approaches excel in static environments but struggle in dynamic learning due to reliance on multiple adapter modules, increasing overhead and complicating inference. We propose Continual Low-Rank Adaptation (C-LoRA), a novel extension of LoRA for continual learning. C-LoRA uses a learnable routing matrix to dynamically manage parameter updates across tasks, ensuring efficient reuse of learned subspaces while enforcing orthogonality to minimize interference and forgetting. Unlike existing approaches that require separate adapters for each task, C-LoRA enables a integrated approach for task adaptation, achieving both scalability and parameter efficiency in sequential learning scenarios. C-LoRA achieves state-of-the-art accuracy and parameter efficiency on benchmarks while providing theoretical insights into its routing matrix's role in retaining and transferring knowledge, establishing a scalable framework for continual learning.

Personalized Interpolation: Achieving Efficient Conversion Estimation with Flexible Optimization WindowsXin Zhang, Weiliang Li, Rui Li et al.
Optimizing conversions is crucial in modern online advertising systems, enabling advertisers to deliver relevant products to users and drive business outcomes. However, accurately predicting conversion events remains challenging due to variable time delays between user interactions (e.g., impressions or clicks) and the actual conversions. These delays vary substantially across advertisers and products, necessitating flexible optimization windows tailored to specific conversion behaviors. To address this, we propose a novel \textit{Personalized Interpolation} method that extends existing models based on fixed conversion windows to support flexible advertiser-specific optimization windows. Our method enables accurate conversion estimation across diverse delay distributions without increasing system complexity. We evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach through extensive experiments using a real-world ads conversion model. Our results show that this method achieves both high prediction accuracy and improved efficiency compared to existing solutions. This study demonstrates the potential of our Personalized Interpolation method to improve conversion optimization and support a wider range of advertising strategies in large-scale online advertising systems.

CLIP Model for Images to Textual Prompts Based on Top-k NeighborsXin Zhang, Xin Zhang, YeMing Cai et al.
Text-to-image synthesis, a subfield of multimodal generation, has gained significant attention in recent years. We propose a cost-effective approach for image-to-prompt generation that leverages generative models to generate textual prompts without the need for large amounts of annotated data. We divide our method into two stages: online stage and offline stage. We use a combination of the CLIP model and K-nearest neighbors (KNN) algorithm. The proposed system consists of two main parts: an offline task and an online task. Our method owns the highest metric 0.612 among these models, which is 0.013, 0.055, 0.011 higher than Clip, Clip + KNN(top 10) respectively.
