PAGE: Parametric Generative Explainer for Graph Neural Network

Yang Qiu, Wei Liu, Jun Wang et al.

This article introduces PAGE, a parameterized generative interpretive framework. PAGE is capable of providing faithful explanations for any graph neural network without necessitating prior knowledge or internal details. Specifically, we train the auto-encoder to generate explanatory substructures by designing appropriate training strategy. Due to the dimensionality reduction of features in the latent space of the auto-encoder, it becomes easier to extract causal features leading to the model's output, which can be easily employed to generate explanations. To accomplish this, we introduce an additional discriminator to capture the causality between latent causal features and the model's output. By designing appropriate optimization objectives, the well-trained discriminator can be employed to constrain the encoder in generating enhanced causal features. Finally, these features are mapped to substructures of the input graph through the decoder to serve as explanations. Compared to existing methods, PAGE operates at the sample scale rather than nodes or edges, eliminating the need for perturbation or encoding processes as seen in previous methods. Experimental results on both artificially synthesized and real-world datasets demonstrate that our approach not only exhibits the highest faithfulness and accuracy but also significantly outperforms baseline models in terms of efficiency.

AutoStyle-TTS: Retrieval-Augmented Generation based Automatic Style Matching Text-to-Speech Synthesis

Dan Luo, Chengyuan Ma, Weiqin Li et al.

With the advancement of speech synthesis technology, users have higher expectations for the naturalness and expressiveness of synthesized speech. But previous research ignores the importance of prompt selection. This study proposes a text-to-speech (TTS) framework based on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) technology, which can dynamically adjust the speech style according to the text content to achieve more natural and vivid communication effects. We have constructed a speech style knowledge database containing high-quality speech samples in various contexts and developed a style matching scheme. This scheme uses embeddings, extracted by Llama, PER-LLM-Embedder,and Moka, to match with samples in the knowledge database, selecting the most appropriate speech style for synthesis. Furthermore, our empirical research validates the effectiveness of the proposed method. Our demo can be viewed at: https://thuhcsi.github.io/icme2025-AutoStyle-TTS

Logic Synthesis with Generative Deep Neural Networks

Xihan Li, Xing Li, Lei Chen et al.

While deep learning has achieved significant success in various domains, its application to logic circuit design has been limited due to complex constraints and strict feasibility requirement. However, a recent generative deep neural model, "Circuit Transformer", has shown promise in this area by enabling equivalence-preserving circuit transformation on a small scale. In this paper, we introduce a logic synthesis rewriting operator based on the Circuit Transformer model, named "ctrw" (Circuit Transformer Rewriting), which incorporates the following techniques: (1) a two-stage training scheme for the Circuit Transformer tailored for logic synthesis, with iterative improvement of optimality through self-improvement training; (2) integration of the Circuit Transformer with state-of-the-art rewriting techniques to address scalability issues, allowing for guided DAG-aware rewriting. Experimental results on the IWLS 2023 contest benchmark demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed rewriting methods.

As Easy as 1, 2, 3: Behavioural Testing of NMT Systems for Numerical Translation

Jun Wang, Chang Xu, Francisco Guzman et al.

Mistranslated numbers have the potential to cause serious effects, such as financial loss or medical misinformation. In this work we develop comprehensive assessments of the robustness of neural machine translation systems to numerical text via behavioural testing. We explore a variety of numerical translation capabilities a system is expected to exhibit and design effective test examples to expose system underperformance. We find that numerical mistranslation is a general issue: major commercial systems and state-of-the-art research models fail on many of our test examples, for high- and low-resource languages. Our tests reveal novel errors that have not previously been reported in NMT systems, to the best of our knowledge. Lastly, we discuss strategies to mitigate numerical mistranslation.
