RJE: A Retrieval-Judgment-Exploration Framework for Efficient Knowledge Graph Question Answering with LLMsCan Lin, Zhengwang Jiang, Ling Zheng et al.
Knowledge graph question answering (KGQA) aims to answer natural language questions using knowledge graphs. Recent research leverages large language models (LLMs) to enhance KGQA reasoning, but faces limitations: retrieval-based methods are constrained by the quality of retrieved information, while agent-based methods rely heavily on proprietary LLMs. To address these limitations, we propose Retrieval-Judgment-Exploration (RJE), a framework that retrieves refined reasoning paths, evaluates their sufficiency, and conditionally explores additional evidence. Moreover, RJE introduces specialized auxiliary modules enabling small-sized LLMs to perform effectively: Reasoning Path Ranking, Question Decomposition, and Retriever-assisted Exploration. Experiments show that our approach with proprietary LLMs (such as GPT-4o-mini) outperforms existing baselines while enabling small open-source LLMs (such as 3B and 8B parameters) to achieve competitive results without fine-tuning LLMs. Additionally, RJE substantially reduces the number of LLM calls and token usage compared to agent-based methods, yielding significant efficiency improvements.

Heterogeneity-Oblivious Robust Federated LearningWeiyao Zhang, Jinyang Li, Qi Song et al.
Federated Learning (FL) remains highly vulnerable to poisoning attacks, especially under real-world hyper-heterogeneity, where clients differ significantly in data distributions, communication capabilities, and model architectures. Such heterogeneity not only undermines the effectiveness of aggregation strategies but also makes attacks more difficult to detect. Furthermore, high-dimensional models expand the attack surface. To address these challenges, we propose Horus, a heterogeneity-oblivious robust FL framework centered on low-rank adaptations (LoRAs). Rather than aggregating full model parameters, Horus inserts LoRAs into empirically stable layers and aggregates only LoRAs to reduce the attack uncover a key empirical observation that the input projection (LoRA-A) is markedly more stable than the output projection (LoRA-B) under heterogeneity and poisoning. Leveraging this, we design a Heterogeneity-Oblivious Poisoning Score using the features from LoRA-A to filter poisoned clients. For the remaining benign clients, we propose projection-aware aggregation mechanism to preserve collaborative signals while suppressing drifts, which reweights client updates by consistency with the global directions. Extensive experiments across diverse datasets, model architectures, and attacks demonstrate that Horus consistently outperforms state-of-the-art baselines in both robustness and accuracy.

Autonomous Underwater Vehicle-Manipulator Systems Path Planning with RRTAUVMS AlgorithmXiaoxu Cao, Linyi Gu, JunChen Mu et al.
Autonomous Underwater Vehicle-Manipulator systems (AUVMS) is a new tool for ocean exploration, the AUVMS path planning problem is addressed in this paper. AUVMS is a high dimension system with a large difference in inertia distribution, also it works in a complex environment with obstacles. By integrating the rapidly-exploring random tree(RRT) algorithm with the AUVMS kinematics model, the proposed RRTAUVMS algorithm could randomly sample in the configuration space(C-Space), and also grow the tree directly towards the workspace goal in the task space. The RRTAUVMS can also deal with the redundant mapping of workspace planning goal and configuration space goal. Compared with the traditional RRT algorithm, the efficiency of the AUVMS path planning can be significantly improved.
