Vec2Gloss: definition modeling leveraging contextualized vectors with Wordnet glossYu-Hsiang Tseng, Mao-Chang Ku, Wei-Ling Chen et al.
Contextualized embeddings are proven to be powerful tools in multiple NLP tasks. Nonetheless, challenges regarding their interpretability and capability to represent lexical semantics still remain. In this paper, we propose that the task of definition modeling, which aims to generate the human-readable definition of the word, provides a route to evaluate or understand the high dimensional semantic vectors. We propose a `Vec2Gloss' model, which produces the gloss from the target word's contextualized embeddings. The generated glosses of this study are made possible by the systematic gloss patterns provided by Chinese Wordnet. We devise two dependency indices to measure the semantic and contextual dependency, which are used to analyze the generated texts in gloss and token levels. Our results indicate that the proposed `Vec2Gloss' model opens a new perspective to the lexical-semantic applications of contextualized embeddings.

Trusted Media Challenge Dataset and User StudyWeiling Chen, Sheng Lun Benjamin Chua, Stefan Winkler et al.
The development of powerful deep learning technologies has brought about some negative effects to both society and individuals. One such issue is the emergence of fake media. To tackle the issue, we have organized the Trusted Media Challenge (TMC) to explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies could be leveraged to combat fake media. To enable further research, we are releasing the dataset that we had prepared from the TMC challenge, consisting of 4,380 fake and 2,563 real videos, with various video and/or audio manipulation methods employed to produce different types of fake media. All the videos in the TMC dataset are accompanied with audios and have a minimum resolution of 360p. The videos have various durations, background, illumination, and may contain perturbations that mimic transmission errors and compression. We have also carried out a user study to demonstrate the quality of the TMC dataset and to compare the performance of humans and AI models. The results showed that the TMC dataset can fool human participants in many cases, and the winning AI models of the Trusted Media Challenge outperformed humans.
