Language Embedded Radiance Fields for Zero-Shot Task-Oriented Grasping

Adam Rashid, Satvik Sharma, Chung Min Kim et al.

Grasping objects by a specific part is often crucial for safety and for executing downstream tasks. Yet, learning-based grasp planners lack this behavior unless they are trained on specific object part data, making it a significant challenge to scale object diversity. Instead, we propose LERF-TOGO, Language Embedded Radiance Fields for Task-Oriented Grasping of Objects, which uses vision-language models zero-shot to output a grasp distribution over an object given a natural language query. To accomplish this, we first reconstruct a LERF of the scene, which distills CLIP embeddings into a multi-scale 3D language field queryable with text. However, LERF has no sense of objectness, meaning its relevancy outputs often return incomplete activations over an object which are insufficient for subsequent part queries. LERF-TOGO mitigates this lack of spatial grouping by extracting a 3D object mask via DINO features and then conditionally querying LERF on this mask to obtain a semantic distribution over the object with which to rank grasps from an off-the-shelf grasp planner. We evaluate LERF-TOGO's ability to grasp task-oriented object parts on 31 different physical objects, and find it selects grasps on the correct part in 81% of all trials and grasps successfully in 69%. Lucid-XR: An Extended-Reality Data Engine for Robotic Manipulation

Yajvan Ravan, Adam Rashid, Alan Yu et al.

We introduce Lucid-XR, a generative data engine for creating diverse and realistic-looking multi-modal data to train real-world robotic systems. At the core of Lucid-XR is vuer, a web-based physics simulation environment that runs directly on the XR headset, enabling internet-scale access to immersive, latency-free virtual interactions without requiring specialized equipment. The complete system integrates on-device physics simulation with human-to-robot pose retargeting. Data collected is further amplified by a physics-guided video generation pipeline steerable via natural language specifications. We demonstrate zero-shot transfer of robot visual policies to unseen, cluttered, and badly lit evaluation environments, after training entirely on Lucid-XR's synthetic data. We include examples across dexterous manipulation tasks that involve soft materials, loosely bound particles, and rigid body contact. Project website: https://lucidxr.github.io

Scalable Behavior Cloning with Open Data, Training, and Evaluation

Arthur Allshire, Himanshu Gaurav Singh, Ritvik Singh et al.

We introduce ABC, a fully open-source stack for manipulation with behavior cloning. At its core is ABC-130K: the largest open-source teleoperation dataset to date, featuring 3,500 hours of data spanning over 130K episodes across 195 diverse tasks. Furthermore, we open-source our accessible hardware setup, training infrastructure, and simulation pipeline. We also release 400 hours of sim-teleop data and provide a co-training recipe that produces correlated simulation and real-world evaluation, offering a reliable proxy for ablating model-design and training decisions before costly real-world evaluation. We explore various training recipes and compare common architectural choices for Diffusion Transformers (DiT) and Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, grounding our findings in real-world evaluations. The resulting policies successfully execute dexterous tasks such as box folding and extracting credit cards from wallets. By providing a reproducible toolkit, we aim to place researchers on an equal footing, establishing the necessary foundation to learn the ABCs of Behavior Cloning together as a community.
