Domain-adaptive Video Deblurring via Test-time Blurring

Jin-Ting He, Fu-Jen Tsai, Jia-Hao Wu et al.

Dynamic scene video deblurring aims to remove undesirable blurry artifacts captured during the exposure process. Although previous video deblurring methods have achieved impressive results, they suffer from significant performance drops due to the domain gap between training and testing videos, especially for those captured in real-world scenarios. To address this issue, we propose a domain adaptation scheme based on a blurring model to achieve test-time fine-tuning for deblurring models in unseen domains. Since blurred and sharp pairs are unavailable for fine-tuning during inference, our scheme can generate domain-adaptive training pairs to calibrate a deblurring model for the target domain. First, a Relative Sharpness Detection Module is proposed to identify relatively sharp regions from the blurry input images and regard them as pseudo-sharp images. Next, we utilize a blurring model to produce blurred images based on the pseudo-sharp images extracted during testing. To synthesize blurred images in compliance with the target data distribution, we propose a Domain-adaptive Blur Condition Generation Module to create domain-specific blur conditions for the blurring model. Finally, the generated pseudo-sharp and blurred pairs are used to fine-tune a deblurring model for better performance. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our approach can significantly improve state-of-the-art video deblurring methods, providing performance gains of up to 7.54dB on various real-world video deblurring datasets. Backdoor Graph Condensation

Jiahao Wu, Ning Lu, Zeiyu Dai et al.

Graph condensation has recently emerged as a prevalent technique to improve the training efficiency for graph neural networks (GNNs). It condenses a large graph into a small one such that a GNN trained on this small synthetic graph can achieve comparable performance to a GNN trained on the large graph. However, while existing graph condensation studies mainly focus on the best trade-off between graph size and the GNNs' performance (model utility), they overlook the security issues of graph condensation. To bridge this gap, we first explore backdoor attack against the GNNs trained on the condensed graphs. We introduce an effective backdoor attack against graph condensation, termed BGC. This attack aims to (1) preserve the condensed graph quality despite trigger injection, and (2) ensure trigger efficacy through the condensation process, achieving a high attack success rate. Specifically, BGC consistently updates triggers during condensation and targets representative nodes for poisoning. Extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of our attack. BGC achieves a high attack success rate (close to 1.0) and good model utility in all cases. Furthermore, the results against multiple defense methods demonstrate BGC's resilience under their defenses. Finally, we analyze the key hyperparameters that influence the attack performance. Our code is available at: https://github.com/JiahaoWuGit/BGC.

ID-Blau: Image Deblurring by Implicit Diffusion-based reBLurring AUgmentation

Jia-Hao Wu, Fu-Jen Tsai, Yan-Tsung Peng et al.

Image deblurring aims to remove undesired blurs from an image captured in a dynamic scene. Much research has been dedicated to improving deblurring performance through model architectural designs. However, there is little work on data augmentation for image deblurring. Since continuous motion causes blurred artifacts during image exposure, we aspire to develop a groundbreaking blur augmentation method to generate diverse blurred images by simulating motion trajectories in a continuous space. This paper proposes Implicit Diffusion-based reBLurring AUgmentation (ID-Blau), utilizing a sharp image paired with a controllable blur condition map to produce a corresponding blurred image. We parameterize the blur patterns of a blurred image with their orientations and magnitudes as a pixel-wise blur condition map to simulate motion trajectories and implicitly represent them in a continuous space. By sampling diverse blur conditions, ID-Blau can generate various blurred images unseen in the training set. Experimental results demonstrate that ID-Blau can produce realistic blurred images for training and thus significantly improve performance for state-of-the-art deblurring models. MANGO:Natural Multi-speaker 3D Talking Head Generation via 2D-Lifted Enhancement

Lei Zhu, Lijian Lin, Ye Zhu et al.

Current audio-driven 3D head generation methods mainly focus on single-speaker scenarios, lacking natural, bidirectional listen-and-speak interaction. Achieving seamless conversational behavior, where speaking and listening states transition fluidly remains a key challenge. Existing 3D conversational avatar approaches rely on error-prone pseudo-3D labels that fail to capture fine-grained facial dynamics. To address these limitations, we introduce a novel two-stage framework MANGO, which leveraging pure image-level supervision by alternately training to mitigate the noise introduced by pseudo-3D labels, thereby achieving better alignment with real-world conversational behaviors. Specifically, in the first stage, a diffusion-based transformer with a dual-audio interaction module models natural 3D motion from multi-speaker audio. In the second stage, we use a fast 3D Gaussian Renderer to generate high-fidelity images and provide 2D-level photometric supervision for the 3D motions through alternate training. Additionally, we introduce MANGO-Dialog, a high-quality dataset with over 50 hours of aligned 2D-3D conversational data across 500+ identities. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves exceptional accuracy and realism in modeling two-person 3D dialogue motion, significantly advancing the fidelity and controllability of audio-driven talking heads.

LGA-RCNN: Loss-Guided Attention for Object Detection

Xin Yi, Jiahao Wu, Bo Ma et al.

Object detection is widely studied in computer vision filed. In recent years, certain representative deep learning based detection methods along with solid benchmarks are proposed, which boosts the development of related researchs. However, existing detection methods still suffer from undesirable performance under challenges such as camouflage, blur, inter-class similarity, intra-class variance and complex environment. To address this issue, we propose LGA-RCNN which utilizes a loss-guided attention (LGA) module to highlight representative region of objects. Then, those highlighted local information are fused with global information for precise classification and localization.

Two-Step Image Dehazing with Intra-domain and Inter-domain Adaptation

Xin Yi, Bo Ma, Yulin Zhang et al.

Caused by the difference of data distributions, intra-domain gap and inter-domain gap are widely present in image processing tasks. In the field of image dehazing, certain previous works have paid attention to the inter-domain gap between the synthetic domain and the real domain. However, those methods only establish the connection from the source domain to the target domain without taking into account the large distribution shift within the target domain (intra-domain gap). In this work, we propose a Two-Step Dehazing Network (TSDN) with an intra-domain adaptation and a constrained inter-domain adaptation. First, we subdivide the distributions within the synthetic domain into subsets and mine the optimal subset (easy samples) by loss-based supervision. To alleviate the intra-domain gap of the synthetic domain, we propose an intra-domain adaptation to align distributions of other subsets to the optimal subset by adversarial learning. Finally, we conduct the constrained inter-domain adaptation from the real domain to the optimal subset of the synthetic domain, alleviating the domain shift between domains as well as the distribution shift within the real domain. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our framework performs favorably against the state-of-the-art algorithms both on the synthetic datasets and the real datasets.

Kai Zhang, Shuhang Gu, Radu Timofte et al.

This paper reviews the NTIRE 2020 challenge on perceptual extreme super-resolution with focus on proposed solutions and results. The challenge task was to super-resolve an input image with a magnification factor 16 based on a set of prior examples of low and corresponding high resolution images. The goal is to obtain a network design capable to produce high resolution results with the best perceptual quality and similar to the ground truth. The track had 280 registered participants, and 19 teams submitted the final results. They gauge the state-of-the-art in single image super-resolution.
