EggHand: A Multimodal Foundation Model for Egocentric Hand Pose ForecastingJaeyoung Choi, Hyeondong Kim, Yujin Kim et al.
Forecasting future 3D hand pose sequences from egocentric video is essential for understanding human intention and enabling embodied applications such as AR/VR assistance and human-robot interaction. However, this task remains a highly challenging problem because egocentric hand motion is driven by complex human intent, exhibits highly dexterous articulations, and is observed under drastic viewpoint shifts induced by ego-motion. In this work, we introduce EggHand, a foundation-model-based framework for egocentric hand pose forecasting that unifies multimodal semantic reasoning with dynamic motion modeling. Our approach couples an action decoder from a Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model, which captures the structured temporal dynamics of hand motion, with an egocentric video-text encoder that provides viewpoint-aware contextual information learned from large-scale first-person video. Together, these components overcome the brittleness of generic visual encoders under ego-motion and enable joint reasoning over motion, context, and high-level intent-without relying on body pose or external tracking. Experiments on the EgoExo4D dataset show that EggHand sets a new state of the art in forecasting accuracy, remains robust under severe ego-motion, and further enables controllable prediction via language-based task prompts. BitTP: The Lightweight Trajectory Prediction Model with BitLLM for Edge-DevicesMincheol Kang, Hyunjin Lim, Bomin Kang et al.
Trajectory prediction is a fundamental task for autonomous systems, requiring complex reasoning about multi-agent interactions and intents. Large language models (LLMs) have recently been adopted for this task, as they provide strong contextual reasoning and interpretable, language-based trajectory representations. However, these LLM-based predictors are extremely memory- and compute-intensive, making them difficult to deploy on resource-constrained edge devices such as on-board computers in autonomous robots. To bridge this gap, we propose BitTP, which converts an LLM-based trajectory predictor into a lightweight bitlinear architecture. We demonstrate that weight-only quantization to 1.58-bit (BitTP-Weight) is optimal. Crucially, activations must remain in full precision, as quantizing them leads to severe degradation and instability in spatio-temporal reasoning. Empirically, BitTP-Weight not only preserves but improves prediction quality over the full-precision (BF16) LLM baseline, reducing ADE by 14.29% and FDE by 20.97% on average, while simultaneously reducing memory usage and inference latency relative to other quantization methods. These results demonstrate that carefully designed quantization acts as an effective regularizer, enabling the practical deployment of sophisticated LLM-based reasoning on edge devices. CascadeOcc: Rethinking 3D Occupancy World Models with Cascaded VQ RepresentationsKyumin Hwang, Wonhyeok Choi, Jaeyeul Kim et al.
This letter proposes CascadeOcc, a novel occupancy world model that prioritizes intrinsic structural hierarchy over extrinsic auxiliary modalities for autonomous driving. Occupancy world models -- forecasting the future driving environment and planning the driving trajectory -- effectively bridge perception and planning, but current approaches often heavily rely on external modalities or large language models, failing to fully exploit the inherent structural potential of occupancy representations themselves. To enhance representational capacity for complex 3D scenes, we integrate a cascaded Vector Quantized (VQ) mechanism into an autoregressive framework. Following a coarse-to-fine principle, CascadeOcc progressively refines fine-grained details from global structures through a multi-scale architecture. Additionally, we incorporate a TimeMixer to capture multi-scale temporal dependencies, establishing a dual-hierarchy mechanism in both space and time. Experimental results on 4D occupancy forecasting and motion planning benchmarks demonstrate that CascadeOcc achieves superior performance among vision-centric approaches, validating that optimizing inherent representations is a powerful alternative to relying on external foundation models.
