Analysis in HUGIN of Data Conflict
This work addresses data reliability issues in medical diagnostics, but it appears incremental as it builds on existing HUGIN and MUNIN frameworks.
The paper tackled the problem of conflicting data in causal probabilistic networks by defining a measure of conflict, which was applied in the medical diagnostic system MUNIN to help distinguish between data conflicts and rare cases.
After a brief introduction to causal probabilistic networks and the HUGIN approach, the problem of conflicting data is discussed. A measure of conflict is defined, and it is used in the medical diagnostic system MUNIN. Finally, it is discussed how to distinguish between conflicting data and a rare case.
