Turing's Red Flag
This tackles the issue of AI-human confusion for society, but it is incremental as it builds on existing ideas about transparency and identification.
The paper addresses the problem of AI systems being mistaken for humans by proposing that autonomous systems should be designed to be clearly identifiable as such and announce their identity at the start of interactions.
Sometime in the future we will have to deal with the impact of AI's being mistaken for humans. For this reason, I propose that any autonomous system should be designed so that it is unlikely to be mistaken for anything besides an autonomous sysem, and should identify itself at the start of any interaction with another agent.
