Vulnerability of linear systems against sensor attacks--a system's security index
This addresses security vulnerabilities in control systems, but appears incremental as it builds on existing coding theory ideas.
The paper tackles the problem of securing linear time-invariant systems against sensor attacks by introducing a 'security index' as a quantitative measure, deriving conditions for attack detection and correction from error control coding theory.
The `security index' of a discrete-time LTI system under sensor attacks is introduced as a quantitative measure on the security of an observable system. We derive ideas from error control coding theory to provide sufficient conditions for attack detection and correction.
