Statistical Properties of European Languages and Voynich Manuscript Analysis
This work addresses the long-standing problem of deciphering the Voynich Manuscript for historians and linguists, but appears incremental as it builds on existing statistical methods.
The authors analyzed statistical properties of letter frequencies in European literature texts to determine logarithmic dependencies in single-language and two-language texts, then applied this to suggest a language pair for the Voynich Manuscript and examine its internal structure using spectral portraits of two-letter distributions.
The statistical properties of letters frequencies in European literature texts are investigated. The determination of logarithmic dependence of letters sequence for one-language and two-language texts are examined. The pare of languages is suggested for Voynich Manuscript. The internal structure of Manuscript is considered. The spectral portraits of two-letters distribution are constructed.
