Electric vehicle charging: a queueing approach
It introduces queueing models for EV charging to the Sigmetrics community, but is primarily illustrative and lacks concrete results.
This paper uses queueing theory to model congestion at EV charging stations and in the distribution grid, highlighting resource allocation and performance problems relevant to the Sigmetrics community.
The number of electric vehicles (EVs) is expected to increase. As a consequence, more EVs will need charging, potentially causing not only congestion at charging stations, but also in the distribution grid. Our goal is to illustrate how this gives rise to resource allocation and performance problems that are of interest to the Sigmetrics community.
