Determination of Digital Straight Segments Using the Slope
This work addresses the problem of digital geometry analysis for computer vision or image processing applications, but it appears incremental as it builds on existing chain coding schemes.
The authors tackled the problem of recognizing digital straight lines by introducing a new method based on slope, combining Freeman's chain coding with novel properties of digital slope, and demonstrated its efficiency through testing.
We present a new method for the recognition of digital straight lines based on the slope. This method combines the Freeman's chain coding scheme and new discovered properties of the digital slope introduced in this paper. We also present the efficiency of our method from a testbed.
