Realizing Intelligence
This work addresses the foundational problem of defining intelligence for AI and cognitive science researchers, but it is incremental as it provides a conceptual perspective without new empirical results.
The paper tackles the problem of understanding intelligence by proposing a high-level conceptual model with multiple abstraction levels in space and time, resulting in a framework that offers simple and useful ways to grasp the essence of intelligence.
Order exists in the world. The intelligence process enables us to realize that order, to some extent. We provide a high level description of intelligence using simple definitions, basic building blocks, a conceptual framework and general hierarchy. This perspective includes multiple levels of abstraction occurring in space and in time. The resulting model offers simple, useful ways to help realize the essence of intelligence.
