Hash Cracking Benchmarking of Replacement Patterns
This addresses a security challenge for cybersecurity professionals by potentially enhancing password recovery tools, though it appears incremental as it builds on existing replacement methods.
The paper tackled the problem of improving password hash cracking by identifying replacement patterns in plain texts, and reported that this approach leads to higher success rates in recovering hashed passwords.
In this paper, we explain our methodology to identify replacement patterns. The main purpose of this article is to show that with replacement methods on plain texts, it is possible to have more success rates when trying to recovering hashed passwords.
