LLMscape
This work addresses the problem of exploring human-AI interaction and meaning-making under uncertainty for artists, researchers, and the general public, but it is incremental as it builds on existing interactive and AI art concepts without introducing new technical methods.
The researchers tackled the problem of understanding how humans and AI construct meaning under uncertainty by creating an interactive installation where participants reshape a projection-mapped landscape and engage with AI agents that develop incomplete accounts of the environment, resulting in a work that positions AI as co-witnesses to examine parallels in meaning-making and reflect on shared epistemic limits.
LLMscape is an interactive installation that investigates how humans and AI construct meaning under shared conditions of uncertainty. Within a mutable, projection-mapped landscape, human participants reshape the world and engage with multiple AI agents, each developing incomplete and provisional accounts of their environment. Exhibited in Shanghai and continually evolving, the work positions AI not as deterministic tools but as embodied co-witnesses to an unstable world, examining the parallels between human and artificial meaning-making and inviting reflection on our shared epistemic limits.
