HF-NeuS: Improved Surface Reconstruction Using High-Frequency DetailsYiqun Wang, Ivan Skorokhodov, Peter Wonka
Neural rendering can be used to reconstruct implicit representations of shapes without 3D supervision. However, current neural surface reconstruction methods have difficulty learning high-frequency geometry details, so the reconstructed shapes are often over-smoothed. We develop HF-NeuS, a novel method to improve the quality of surface reconstruction in neural rendering. We follow recent work to model surfaces as signed distance functions (SDFs). First, we offer a derivation to analyze the relationship between the SDF, the volume density, the transparency function, and the weighting function used in the volume rendering equation and propose to model transparency as transformed SDF. Second, we observe that attempting to jointly encode high-frequency and low-frequency components in a single SDF leads to unstable optimization. We propose to decompose the SDF into a base function and a displacement function with a coarse-to-fine strategy to gradually increase the high-frequency details. Finally, we design an adaptive optimization strategy that makes the training process focus on improving those regions near the surface where the SDFs have artifacts. Our qualitative and quantitative results show that our method can reconstruct fine-grained surface details and obtain better surface reconstruction quality than the current state of the art. EpiGRAF: Rethinking training of 3D GANsIvan Skorokhodov, Sergey Tulyakov, Yiqun Wang et al.
A very recent trend in generative modeling is building 3D-aware generators from 2D image collections. To induce the 3D bias, such models typically rely on volumetric rendering, which is expensive to employ at high resolutions. During the past months, there appeared more than 10 works that address this scaling issue by training a separate 2D decoder to upsample a low-resolution image (or a feature tensor) produced from a pure 3D generator. But this solution comes at a cost: not only does it break multi-view consistency (i.e. shape and texture change when the camera moves), but it also learns the geometry in a low fidelity. In this work, we show that it is possible to obtain a high-resolution 3D generator with SotA image quality by following a completely different route of simply training the model patch-wise. We revisit and improve this optimization scheme in two ways. First, we design a location- and scale-aware discriminator to work on patches of different proportions and spatial positions. Second, we modify the patch sampling strategy based on an annealed beta distribution to stabilize training and accelerate the convergence. The resulted model, named EpiGRAF, is an efficient, high-resolution, pure 3D generator, and we test it on four datasets (two introduced in this work) at $256^2$ and $512^2$ resolutions. It obtains state-of-the-art image quality, high-fidelity geometry and trains ${\approx} 2.5 \times$ faster than the upsampler-based counterparts. Learning Harmonic Molecular Representations on Riemannian ManifoldYiqun Wang, Yuning Shen, Shi Chen et al. · tsinghua
Molecular representation learning plays a crucial role in AI-assisted drug discovery research. Encoding 3D molecular structures through Euclidean neural networks has become the prevailing method in the geometric deep learning community. However, the equivariance constraints and message passing in Euclidean space may limit the network expressive power. In this work, we propose a Harmonic Molecular Representation learning (HMR) framework, which represents a molecule using the Laplace-Beltrami eigenfunctions of its molecular surface. HMR offers a multi-resolution representation of molecular geometric and chemical features on 2D Riemannian manifold. We also introduce a harmonic message passing method to realize efficient spectral message passing over the surface manifold for better molecular encoding. Our proposed method shows comparable predictive power to current models in small molecule property prediction, and outperforms the state-of-the-art deep learning models for ligand-binding protein pocket classification and the rigid protein docking challenge, demonstrating its versatility in molecular representation learning.

BlobGAN-3D: A Spatially-Disentangled 3D-Aware Generative Model for Indoor ScenesQian Wang, Yiqun Wang, Michael Birsak et al.
3D-aware image synthesis has attracted increasing interest as it models the 3D nature of our real world. However, performing realistic object-level editing of the generated images in the multi-object scenario still remains a challenge. Recently, a 2D GAN termed BlobGAN has demonstrated great multi-object editing capabilities on real-world indoor scene datasets. In this work, we propose BlobGAN-3D, which is a 3D-aware improvement of the original 2D BlobGAN. We enable explicit camera pose control while maintaining the disentanglement for individual objects in the scene by extending the 2D blobs into 3D blobs. We keep the object-level editing capabilities of BlobGAN and in addition allow flexible control over the 3D location of the objects in the scene. We test our method on real-world indoor datasets and show that our method can achieve comparable image quality compared to the 2D BlobGAN and other 3D-aware GAN baselines while being able to enable camera pose control and object-level editing in the challenging multi-object real-world scenarios.

Fine-Grained Scene Image Classification with Modality-Agnostic AdapterYiqun Wang, Zhao Zhou, Xiangcheng Du et al.
When dealing with the task of fine-grained scene image classification, most previous works lay much emphasis on global visual features when doing multi-modal feature fusion. In other words, models are deliberately designed based on prior intuitions about the importance of different modalities. In this paper, we present a new multi-modal feature fusion approach named MAA (Modality-Agnostic Adapter), trying to make the model learn the importance of different modalities in different cases adaptively, without giving a prior setting in the model architecture. More specifically, we eliminate the modal differences in distribution and then use a modality-agnostic Transformer encoder for a semantic-level feature fusion. Our experiments demonstrate that MAA achieves state-of-the-art results on benchmarks by applying the same modalities with previous methods. Besides, it is worth mentioning that new modalities can be easily added when using MAA and further boost the performance. Code is available at https://github.com/quniLcs/MAA.

RetroDiff: Retrosynthesis as Multi-stage Distribution InterpolationYiming Wang, Yuxuan Song, Yiqun Wang et al.
Retrosynthesis poses a key challenge in biopharmaceuticals, aiding chemists in finding appropriate reactant molecules for given product molecules. With reactants and products represented as 2D graphs, retrosynthesis constitutes a conditional graph-to-graph (G2G) generative task. Inspired by advancements in discrete diffusion models for graph generation, we aim to design a diffusion-based method to address this problem. However, integrating a diffusion-based G2G framework while retaining essential chemical reaction template information presents a notable challenge. Our key innovation involves a multi-stage diffusion process. We decompose the retrosynthesis procedure to first sample external groups from the dummy distribution given products, then generate external bonds to connect products and generated groups. Interestingly, this generation process mirrors the reverse of the widely adapted semi-template retrosynthesis workflow, \emph{i.e.} from reaction center identification to synthon completion. Based on these designs, we introduce Retrosynthesis Diffusion (RetroDiff), a novel diffusion-based method for the retrosynthesis task. Experimental results demonstrate that RetroDiff surpasses all semi-template methods in accuracy, and outperforms template-based and template-free methods in large-scale scenarios and molecular validity, respectively. HDINO: A Concise and Efficient Open-Vocabulary DetectorHao Zhang, Yiqun Wang, Qinran Lin et al.
Despite the growing interest in open-vocabulary object detection in recent years, most existing methods rely heavily on manually curated fine-grained training datasets as well as resource-intensive layer-wise cross-modal feature extraction. In this paper, we propose HDINO, a concise yet efficient open-vocabulary object detector that eliminates the dependence on these components. Specifically, we propose a two-stage training strategy built upon the transformer-based DINO model. In the first stage, noisy samples are treated as additional positive object instances to construct a One-to-Many Semantic Alignment Mechanism(O2M) between the visual and textual modalities, thereby facilitating semantic alignment. A Difficulty Weighted Classification Loss (DWCL) is also designed based on initial detection difficulty to mine hard examples and further improve model performance. In the second stage, a lightweight feature fusion module is applied to the aligned representations to enhance sensitivity to linguistic semantics. Under the Swin Transformer-T setting, HDINO-T achieves \textbf{49.2} mAP on COCO using 2.2M training images from two publicly available detection datasets, without any manual data curation and the use of grounding data, surpassing Grounding DINO-T and T-Rex2 by \textbf{0.8} mAP and \textbf{2.8} mAP, respectively, which are trained on 5.4M and 6.5M images. After fine-tuning on COCO, HDINO-T and HDINO-L further achieve \textbf{56.4} mAP and \textbf{59.2} mAP, highlighting the effectiveness and scalability of our approach. GRASP: Plan-Guided Graph Retrieval with Adaptive Fusion and Reranking on Semi-Structured Knowledge BasesYicheng Tao, Yiqun Wang, Xiangchen Song et al.
Semi-structured knowledge bases (SKBs) embed textual documents in a typed graph of entities and relations, and underpin applications such as product search, academic paper search, and precision-medicine inquiries. Existing hybrid retrieval systems on SKBs either use the graph only for query expansion, mix textual and structural branches under a global weighting, or rely on fine-tuned graph-traversal generators. We present GRASP, a three-stage SKB retrieval framework unifying plan-based graph retrieval, plan-conditioned fusion with a dense retriever, and a fine-tuned reranker over the fused candidates. GRASP substantially advances the state of the art on every metric across the three STaRK benchmarks, lifting average Hit@1 from 62.0 to 73.9. Ablation and sensitivity studies further confirm the effectiveness and robustness of GRASP.

In this paper, we proposed a generative model that learns to synthesize the 4D facial expression with the neutral landmark. Existing works mainly focus on the generation of sequences guided by expression labels, speech, etc, while they are not robust to the change of different identities. Our LM-4DGAN utilizes neutral landmarks to guide the facial expression generation while adding an identity discriminator and a landmark autoencoder to the basic WGAN for achieving better identity robustness. Furthermore, we add a cross-attention mechanism to the existing displacement decoder which is suitable for the given identity.

CroSel: Cross Selection of Confident Pseudo Labels for Partial-Label LearningShiyu Tian, Hongxin Wei, Yiqun Wang et al.
Partial-label learning (PLL) is an important weakly supervised learning problem, which allows each training example to have a candidate label set instead of a single ground-truth label. Identification-based methods have been widely explored to tackle label ambiguity issues in PLL, which regard the true label as a latent variable to be identified. However, identifying the true labels accurately and completely remains challenging, causing noise in pseudo labels during model training. In this paper, we propose a new method called CroSel, which leverages historical predictions from the model to identify true labels for most training examples. First, we introduce a cross selection strategy, which enables two deep models to select true labels of partially labeled data for each other. Besides, we propose a novel consistency regularization term called co-mix to avoid sample waste and tiny noise caused by false selection. In this way, CroSel can pick out the true labels of most examples with high precision. Extensive experiments demonstrate the superiority of CroSel, which consistently outperforms previous state-of-the-art methods on benchmark datasets. Additionally, our method achieves over 90\% accuracy and quantity for selecting true labels on CIFAR-type datasets under various settings.

Pose-Free Omnidirectional Gaussian Splatting for 360-Degree Videos with Consistent Depth PriorsChuanqing Zhuang, Xin Lu, Zehui Deng et al.
Omnidirectional 3D Gaussian Splatting with panoramas is a key technique for 3D scene representation, and existing methods typically rely on slow SfM to provide camera poses and sparse points priors. In this work, we propose a pose-free omnidirectional 3DGS method, named PFGS360, that reconstructs 3D Gaussians from unposed omnidirectional videos. To achieve accurate camera pose estimation, we first construct a spherical consistency-aware pose estimation module, which recovers poses by establishing consistent 2D-3D correspondences between the reconstructed Gaussians and the unposed images using Gaussians' internal depth priors. Besides, to enhance the fidelity of novel view synthesis, we introduce a depth-inlier-aware densification module to extract depth inliers and Gaussian outliers with consistent monocular depth priors, enabling efficient Gaussian densification and achieving photorealistic novel view synthesis. The experiments show significant outperformance over existing pose-free and pose-aware 3DGS methods on both real-world and synthetic 360-degree videos. Agent Skill Framework: Perspectives on the Potential of Small Language Models in Industrial EnvironmentsYangjie Xu, Lujun Li, Lama Sleem et al.
Agent Skill framework, now widely and officially supported by major players such as GitHub Copilot, LangChain, and OpenAI, performs especially well with proprietary models by improving context engineering, reducing hallucinations, and boosting task accuracy. Based on these observations, an investigation is conducted to determine whether the Agent Skill paradigm provides similar benefits to small language models (SLMs). This question matters in industrial scenarios where continuous reliance on public APIs is infeasible due to data-security and budget constraints requirements, and where SLMs often show limited generalization in highly customized scenarios. This work introduces a formal mathematical definition of the Agent Skill process, followed by a systematic evaluation of language models of varying sizes across multiple use cases. The evaluation encompasses two open-source tasks and a real-world insurance claims data set. The results show that tiny models struggle with reliable skill selection, while moderately sized SLMs (approximately 12B - 30B) parameters) benefit substantially from the Agent Skill approach. Moreover, code-specialized variants at around 80B parameters achieve performance comparable to closed-source baselines while improving GPU efficiency. Collectively, these findings provide a comprehensive and nuanced characterization of the capabilities and constraints of the framework, while providing actionable insights for the effective deployment of Agent Skills in SLM-centered environments.

DS-MVSNet: Unsupervised Multi-view Stereo via Depth SynthesisJingliang Li, Zhengda Lu, Yiqun Wang et al.
In recent years, supervised or unsupervised learning-based MVS methods achieved excellent performance compared with traditional methods. However, these methods only use the probability volume computed by cost volume regularization to predict reference depths and this manner cannot mine enough information from the probability volume. Furthermore, the unsupervised methods usually try to use two-step or additional inputs for training which make the procedure more complicated. In this paper, we propose the DS-MVSNet, an end-to-end unsupervised MVS structure with the source depths synthesis. To mine the information in probability volume, we creatively synthesize the source depths by splattering the probability volume and depth hypotheses to source views. Meanwhile, we propose the adaptive Gaussian sampling and improved adaptive bins sampling approach that improve the depths hypotheses accuracy. On the other hand, we utilize the source depths to render the reference images and propose depth consistency loss and depth smoothness loss. These can provide additional guidance according to photometric and geometric consistency in different views without additional inputs. Finally, we conduct a series of experiments on the DTU dataset and Tanks & Temples dataset that demonstrate the efficiency and robustness of our DS-MVSNet compared with the state-of-the-art methods.

Minutes to Seconds: Speeded-up DDPM-based Image Inpainting with Coarse-to-Fine SamplingLintao Zhang, Xiangcheng Du, LeoWu TomyEnrique et al.
For image inpainting, the existing Denoising Diffusion Probabilistic Model (DDPM) based method i.e. RePaint can produce high-quality images for any inpainting form. It utilizes a pre-trained DDPM as a prior and generates inpainting results by conditioning on the reverse diffusion process, namely denoising process. However, this process is significantly time-consuming. In this paper, we propose an efficient DDPM-based image inpainting method which includes three speed-up strategies. First, we utilize a pre-trained Light-Weight Diffusion Model (LWDM) to reduce the number of parameters. Second, we introduce a skip-step sampling scheme of Denoising Diffusion Implicit Models (DDIM) for the denoising process. Finally, we propose Coarse-to-Fine Sampling (CFS), which speeds up inference by reducing image resolution in the coarse stage and decreasing denoising timesteps in the refinement stage. We conduct extensive experiments on both faces and general-purpose image inpainting tasks, and our method achieves competitive performance with approximately 60 times speedup.

DepthGAN: GAN-based Depth Generation of Indoor Scenes from Semantic LayoutsYidi Li, Yiqun Wang, Zhengda Lu et al.
Limited by the computational efficiency and accuracy, generating complex 3D scenes remains a challenging problem for existing generation networks. In this work, we propose DepthGAN, a novel method of generating depth maps with only semantic layouts as input. First, we introduce a well-designed cascade of transformer blocks as our generator to capture the structural correlations in depth maps, which makes a balance between global feature aggregation and local attention. Meanwhile, we propose a cross-attention fusion module to guide edge preservation efficiently in depth generation, which exploits additional appearance supervision information. Finally, we conduct extensive experiments on the perspective views of the Structured3d panorama dataset and demonstrate that our DepthGAN achieves superior performance both on quantitative results and visual effects in the depth generation task.Furthermore, 3D indoor scenes can be reconstructed by our generated depth maps with reasonable structure and spatial coherency.

SDFReg: Learning Signed Distance Functions for Point Cloud RegistrationLeida Zhang, Zhengda Lu, Kai Liu et al.
Learning-based point cloud registration methods can handle clean point clouds well, while it is still challenging to generalize to noisy, partial, and density-varying point clouds. To this end, we propose a novel point cloud registration framework for these imperfect point clouds. By introducing a neural implicit representation, we replace the problem of rigid registration between point clouds with a registration problem between the point cloud and the neural implicit function. We then propose to alternately optimize the implicit function and the registration between the implicit function and point cloud. In this way, point cloud registration can be performed in a coarse-to-fine manner. By fully capitalizing on the capabilities of the neural implicit function without computing point correspondences, our method showcases remarkable robustness in the face of challenges such as noise, incompleteness, and density changes of point clouds.

OMEGA-Avatar: One-shot Modeling of 360° Gaussian AvatarsZehao Xia, Yiqun Wang, Zhengda Lu et al.
Creating high-fidelity, animatable 3D avatars from a single image remains a formidable challenge. We identified three desirable attributes of avatar generation: 1) the method should be feed-forward, 2) model a 360° full-head, and 3) should be animation-ready. However, current work addresses only two of the three points simultaneously. To address these limitations, we propose OMEGA-Avatar, the first feed-forward framework that simultaneously generates a generalizable, 360°-complete, and animatable 3D Gaussian head from a single image. Starting from a feed-forward and animatable framework, we address the 360° full-head avatar generation problem with two novel components. First, to overcome poor hair modeling in full-head avatar generation, we introduce a semantic-aware mesh deformation module that integrates multi-view normals to optimize a FLAME head with hair while preserving its topology structure. Second, to enable effective feed-forward decoding of full-head features, we propose a multi-view feature splatting module that constructs a shared canonical UV representation from features across multiple views through differentiable bilinear splatting, hierarchical UV mapping, and visibility-aware fusion. This approach preserves both global structural coherence and local high-frequency details across all viewpoints, ensuring 360° consistency without per-instance optimization. Extensive experiments demonstrate that OMEGA-Avatar achieves state-of-the-art performance, significantly outperforming existing baselines in 360° full-head completeness while robustly preserving identity across different viewpoints.

SpikeGS: Learning 3D Gaussian Fields from Continuous Spike StreamJinze Yu, Xin Peng, Zhengda Lu et al.
A spike camera is a specialized high-speed visual sensor that offers advantages such as high temporal resolution and high dynamic range compared to conventional frame cameras. These features provide the camera with significant advantages in many computer vision tasks. However, the tasks of novel view synthesis based on spike cameras remain underdeveloped. Although there are existing methods for learning neural radiance fields from spike stream, they either lack robustness in extremely noisy, low-quality lighting conditions or suffer from high computational complexity due to the deep fully connected neural networks and ray marching rendering strategies used in neural radiance fields, making it difficult to recover fine texture details. In contrast, the latest advancements in 3DGS have achieved high-quality real-time rendering by optimizing the point cloud representation into Gaussian ellipsoids. Building on this, we introduce SpikeGS, the method to learn 3D Gaussian fields solely from spike stream. We designed a differentiable spike stream rendering framework based on 3DGS, incorporating noise embedding and spiking neurons. By leveraging the multi-view consistency of 3DGS and the tile-based multi-threaded parallel rendering mechanism, we achieved high-quality real-time rendering results. Additionally, we introduced a spike rendering loss function that generalizes under varying illumination conditions. Our method can reconstruct view synthesis results with fine texture details from a continuous spike stream captured by a moving spike camera, while demonstrating high robustness in extremely noisy low-light scenarios. Experimental results on both real and synthetic datasets demonstrate that our method surpasses existing approaches in terms of rendering quality and speed.

Quantized-Tinyllava: a new multimodal foundation model enables efficient split learningJiajun Guo, Xin Luo, Jiayin Zheng et al.
Multimodal foundation models are increasingly trained on sensitive data across domains such as finance, biomedicine, and personal identifiers. However, this distributed setup raises serious privacy concerns due to the need for cross-partition data sharing. Split learning addresses these concerns by enabling collaborative model training without raw data exchange between partitions, yet it introduces a significant challenge: transmitting high-dimensional intermediate feature representations between partitions leads to substantial communication costs. To address this challenge, we propose Quantized-TinyLLaVA, a multimodal foundation model with an integrated communication-efficient split learning framework. Our approach adopts a compression module that quantizes intermediate feature into discrete representations before transmission, substantially reducing communication overhead. Besides, we derive a principled quantization strategy grounded in entropy coding theory to determine the optimal number of discrete representation levels. We deploy our framework in a two-partition setting, with one partition operating as the client and the other as the server, to realistically simulate distributed training. Under this setup, Quantized-TinyLLaVA achieves an approximate \textbf{87.5\%} reduction in communication overhead with 2-bit quantization, while maintaining performance of the original 16-bit model across five benchmark datasets. Furthermore, our compressed representations exhibit enhanced resilience against feature inversion attacks, validating the privacy of transmission. Cross-Modal Semantic-Enhanced Diffusion Framework for Diabetic Retinopathy GradingYiqun Wang
Automated grading of diabetic retinopathy (DR) faces several critical challenges: subtle inter-grade visual distinctions in fine-grained lesion patterns, distributional discrepancies induced by heterogeneous imaging devices and acquisition conditions, and the inherent inability of purely visual approaches to exploit clinical semantic knowledge. In this paper, we propose CLIP-Guided Semantic Diffusion (CGSD), a DR grading framework that synergistically integrates vision-language pretraining with diffusion probabilistic modeling. We adopt a domain-specific vision-language model tailored for DR grading as the semantic guidance module and adapt it to the target domain via Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA), effectively bridging the distributional gap between the pretrained model and the target dataset with only a minimal number of trainable parameters. Building on this foundation, we construct a cross-modal semantic conditioning vector by computing the dot product between image features and the text description features of each DR grade, yielding a joint representation that simultaneously encodes visual content and clinical-grade semantics. This vector serves as the conditioning signal for the diffusion denoising network, replacing the structurally complex dual-branch visual prior employed in existing diffusion-based classification methods. Experiments on the APTOS 2019 dataset demonstrate that the proposed approach achieves an accuracy of 87.5% and a macro-averaged F1 score of 0.731, outperforming a variety of representative methods. Ablation studies further validate the independent contribution of each constituent module.

LSF-Animation: Label-Free Speech-Driven Facial Animation via Implicit Feature RepresentationXin Lu, Chuanqing Zhuang, Chenxi Jin et al.
Speech-driven 3D facial animation has attracted increasing interest since its potential to generate expressive and temporally synchronized digital humans. While recent works have begun to explore emotion-aware animation, they still depend on explicit one-hot encodings to represent identity and emotion with given emotion and identity labels, which limits their ability to generalize to unseen speakers. Moreover, the emotional cues inherently present in speech are often neglected, limiting the naturalness and adaptability of generated animations. In this work, we propose LSF-Animation, a novel framework that eliminates the reliance on explicit emotion and identity feature representations. Specifically, LSF-Animation implicitly extracts emotion information from speech and captures the identity features from a neutral facial mesh, enabling improved generalization to unseen speakers and emotional states without requiring manual labels. Furthermore, we introduce a Hierarchical Interaction Fusion Block (HIFB), which employs a fusion token to integrate dual transformer features and more effectively integrate emotional, motion-related and identity-related cues. Extensive experiments conducted on the 3DMEAD dataset demonstrate that our method surpasses recent state-of-the-art approaches in terms of emotional expressiveness, identity generalization, and animation realism. MoMa: A Modular Deep Learning Framework for Material Property PredictionBotian Wang, Yawen Ouyang, Yaohui Li et al.
Deep learning methods for material property prediction have been widely explored to advance materials discovery. However, the prevailing pre-train then fine-tune paradigm often fails to address the inherent diversity and disparity of material tasks. To overcome these challenges, we introduce MoMa, a Modular framework for Materials that first trains specialized modules across a wide range of tasks and then adaptively composes synergistic modules tailored to each downstream scenario. Evaluation across 17 datasets demonstrates the superiority of MoMa, with a substantial 14% average improvement over the strongest baseline. Few-shot and continual learning experiments further highlight MoMa's potential for real-world applications. Pioneering a new paradigm of modular material learning, MoMa will be open-sourced to foster broader community collaboration.

PET-NeuS: Positional Encoding Tri-Planes for Neural SurfacesYiqun Wang, Ivan Skorokhodov, Peter Wonka
A signed distance function (SDF) parametrized by an MLP is a common ingredient of neural surface reconstruction. We build on the successful recent method NeuS to extend it by three new components. The first component is to borrow the tri-plane representation from EG3D and represent signed distance fields as a mixture of tri-planes and MLPs instead of representing it with MLPs only. Using tri-planes leads to a more expressive data structure but will also introduce noise in the reconstructed surface. The second component is to use a new type of positional encoding with learnable weights to combat noise in the reconstruction process. We divide the features in the tri-plane into multiple frequency scales and modulate them with sin and cos functions of different frequencies. The third component is to use learnable convolution operations on the tri-plane features using self-attention convolution to produce features with different frequency bands. The experiments show that PET-NeuS achieves high-fidelity surface reconstruction on standard datasets. Following previous work and using the Chamfer metric as the most important way to measure surface reconstruction quality, we are able to improve upon the NeuS baseline by 57% on Nerf-synthetic (0.84 compared to 1.97) and by 15.5% on DTU (0.71 compared to 0.84). ACDNet: Adaptively Combined Dilated Convolution for Monocular Panorama Depth EstimationChuanqing Zhuang, Zhengda Lu, Yiqun Wang et al.
Depth estimation is a crucial step for 3D reconstruction with panorama images in recent years. Panorama images maintain the complete spatial information but introduce distortion with equirectangular projection. In this paper, we propose an ACDNet based on the adaptively combined dilated convolution to predict the dense depth map for a monocular panoramic image. Specifically, we combine the convolution kernels with different dilations to extend the receptive field in the equirectangular projection. Meanwhile, we introduce an adaptive channel-wise fusion module to summarize the feature maps and get diverse attention areas in the receptive field along the channels. Due to the utilization of channel-wise attention in constructing the adaptive channel-wise fusion module, the network can capture and leverage the cross-channel contextual information efficiently. Finally, we conduct depth estimation experiments on three datasets (both virtual and real-world) and the experimental results demonstrate that our proposed ACDNet substantially outperforms the current state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods. Protein Conformation Generation via Force-Guided SE(3) Diffusion ModelsYan Wang, Lihao Wang, Yuning Shen et al.
The conformational landscape of proteins is crucial to understanding their functionality in complex biological processes. Traditional physics-based computational methods, such as molecular dynamics (MD) simulations, suffer from rare event sampling and long equilibration time problems, hindering their applications in general protein systems. Recently, deep generative modeling techniques, especially diffusion models, have been employed to generate novel protein conformations. However, existing score-based diffusion methods cannot properly incorporate important physical prior knowledge to guide the generation process, causing large deviations in the sampled protein conformations from the equilibrium distribution. In this paper, to overcome these limitations, we propose a force-guided SE(3) diffusion model, ConfDiff, for protein conformation generation. By incorporating a force-guided network with a mixture of data-based score models, ConfDiff can generate protein conformations with rich diversity while preserving high fidelity. Experiments on a variety of protein conformation prediction tasks, including 12 fast-folding proteins and the Bovine Pancreatic Trypsin Inhibitor (BPTI), demonstrate that our method surpasses the state-of-the-art method.

Temporal-Spatial Tubelet Embedding for Cloud-Robust MSI Reconstruction using MSI-SAR Fusion: A Multi-Head Self-Attention Video Vision Transformer ApproachYiqun Wang, Lujun Li, Meiru Yue et al.
Cloud cover in multispectral imagery (MSI) significantly hinders early-season crop mapping by corrupting spectral information. Existing Vision Transformer(ViT)-based time-series reconstruction methods, like SMTS-ViT, often employ coarse temporal embeddings that aggregate entire sequences, causing substantial information loss and reducing reconstruction accuracy. To address these limitations, a Video Vision Transformer (ViViT)-based framework with temporal-spatial fusion embedding for MSI reconstruction in cloud-covered regions is proposed in this study. Non-overlapping tubelets are extracted via 3D convolution with constrained temporal span $(t=2)$, ensuring local temporal coherence while reducing cross-day information degradation. Both MSI-only and SAR-MSI fusion scenarios are considered during the experiments. Comprehensive experiments on 2020 Traill County data demonstrate notable performance improvements: MTS-ViViT achieves a 2.23\% reduction in MSE compared to the MTS-ViT baseline, while SMTS-ViViT achieves a 10.33\% improvement with SAR integration over the SMTS-ViT baseline. The proposed framework effectively enhances spectral reconstruction quality for robust agricultural monitoring.

4D facial expression synthesizing is a critical problem in the fields of computer vision and graphics. Current methods lack flexibility and smoothness when simulating the inter-frame motion of expression sequences. In this paper, we propose a frequency-controlled 4D facial expression synthesizing method, FC-4DFS. Specifically, we introduce a frequency-controlled LSTM network to generate 4D facial expression sequences frame by frame from a given neutral landmark with a given length. Meanwhile, we propose a temporal coherence loss to enhance the perception of temporal sequence motion and improve the accuracy of relative displacements. Furthermore, we designed a Multi-level Identity-Aware Displacement Network based on a cross-attention mechanism to reconstruct the 4D facial expression sequences from landmark sequences. Finally, our FC-4DFS achieves flexible and SOTA generation results of 4D facial expression sequences with different lengths on CoMA and Florence4D datasets. The code will be available on GitHub.

Cross Domain Early Crop Mapping using CropSTGANYiqun Wang, Hui Huang, Radu State
Driven by abundant satellite imagery, machine learning-based approaches have recently been promoted to generate high-resolution crop cultivation maps to support many agricultural applications. One of the major challenges faced by these approaches is the limited availability of ground truth labels. In the absence of ground truth, existing work usually adopts the "direct transfer strategy" that trains a classifier using historical labels collected from other regions and then applies the trained model to the target region. Unfortunately, the spectral features of crops exhibit inter-region and inter-annual variability due to changes in soil composition, climate conditions, and crop progress, the resultant models perform poorly on new and unseen regions or years. Despite recent efforts, such as the application of the deep adaptation neural network (DANN) model structure in the deep adaptation crop classification network (DACCN), to tackle the above cross-domain challenges, their effectiveness diminishes significantly when there is a large dissimilarity between the source and target regions. This paper introduces the Crop Mapping Spectral-temporal Generative Adversarial Neural Network (CropSTGAN), a novel solution for cross-domain challenges, that doesn't require target domain labels. CropSTGAN learns to transform the target domain's spectral features to those of the source domain, effectively bridging large dissimilarities. Additionally, it employs an identity loss to maintain the intrinsic local structure of the data. Comprehensive experiments across various regions and years demonstrate the benefits and effectiveness of the proposed approach. In experiments, CropSTGAN is benchmarked against various state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods. Notably, CropSTGAN significantly outperforms these methods in scenarios with large data distribution dissimilarities between the target and source domains.

This paper presents a comprehensive exploration of relation extraction utilizing advanced language models, specifically Chain of Thought (CoT) and Graphical Reasoning (GRE) techniques. We demonstrate how leveraging in-context learning with GPT-3.5 can significantly enhance the extraction process, particularly through detailed example-based reasoning. Additionally, we introduce a novel graphical reasoning approach that dissects relation extraction into sequential sub-tasks, improving precision and adaptability in processing complex relational data. Our experiments, conducted on multiple datasets, including manually annotated data, show considerable improvements in performance metrics, underscoring the effectiveness of our methodologies.

Empowering Vector Graphics with Consistently Arbitrary Viewing and View-dependent VisibilityYidi Li, Jun Xiao, Zhengda Lu et al.
This work presents a novel text-to-vector graphics generation approach, Dream3DVG, allowing for arbitrary viewpoint viewing, progressive detail optimization, and view-dependent occlusion awareness. Our approach is a dual-branch optimization framework, consisting of an auxiliary 3D Gaussian Splatting optimization branch and a 3D vector graphics optimization branch. The introduced 3DGS branch can bridge the domain gaps between text prompts and vector graphics with more consistent guidance. Moreover, 3DGS allows for progressive detail control by scheduling classifier-free guidance, facilitating guiding vector graphics with coarse shapes at the initial stages and finer details at later stages. We also improve the view-dependent occlusions by devising a visibility-awareness rendering module. Extensive results on 3D sketches and 3D iconographies, demonstrate the superiority of the method on different abstraction levels of details, cross-view consistency, and occlusion-aware stroke culling.

DehazeGS: Seeing Through Fog with 3D Gaussian SplattingJinze Yu, Yiqun Wang, Aiheng Jiang et al.
Current novel view synthesis methods are typically designed for high-quality and clean input images. However, in foggy scenes, scattering and attenuation can significantly degrade the quality of rendering. Although NeRF-based dehazing approaches have been developed, their reliance on deep fully connected neural networks and per-ray sampling strategies leads to high computational costs. Furthermore, NeRF's implicit representation limits its ability to recover fine-grained details from hazy scenes. To overcome these limitations, we propose learning an explicit Gaussian representation to explain the formation mechanism of foggy images through a physically forward rendering process. Our method, DehazeGS, reconstructs and renders fog-free scenes using only multi-view foggy images as input. Specifically, based on the atmospheric scattering model, we simulate the formation of fog by establishing the transmission function directly onto Gaussian primitives via depth-to-transmission mapping. During training, we jointly learn the atmospheric light and scattering coefficients while optimizing the Gaussian representation of foggy scenes. At inference time, we remove the effects of scattering and attenuation in Gaussian distributions and directly render the scene to obtain dehazed views. Experiments on both real-world and synthetic foggy datasets demonstrate that DehazeGS achieves state-of-the-art performance. visualizations are available at https://dehazegs.github.io/

NocPlace: Nocturnal Visual Place Recognition via Generative and Inherited Knowledge TransferBingxi Liu, Yiqun Wang, Huaqi Tao et al.
Visual Place Recognition (VPR) is crucial in computer vision, aiming to retrieve database images similar to a query image from an extensive collection of known images. However, like many vision tasks, VPR always degrades at night due to the scarcity of nighttime images. Moreover, VPR needs to address the cross-domain problem of night-to-day rather than just the issue of a single nighttime domain. In response to these issues, we present NocPlace, which leverages generative and inherited knowledge transfer to embed resilience against dazzling lights and extreme darkness in the global descriptor. First, we establish a day-night urban scene dataset called NightCities, capturing diverse lighting variations and dark scenarios across 60 cities globally. Then, an image generation network is trained on this dataset and processes a large-scale VPR dataset, obtaining its nighttime version. Finally, VPR models are fine-tuned using descriptors inherited from themselves and night-style images, which builds explicit cross-domain contrastive relationships. Comprehensive experiments on various datasets demonstrate our contributions and the superiority of NocPlace. Without adding any real-time computing resources, NocPlace improves the performance of Eigenplaces by 7.6% on Tokyo 24/7 Night and 16.8% on SVOX Night.

Ref-DGS: Reflective Dual Gaussian SplattingNingjing Fan, Yiqun Wang, Dongming Yan et al.
Reflective appearance, especially strong and typically near-field specular reflections, poses a fundamental challenge for accurate surface reconstruction and novel view synthesis. Existing Gaussian splatting methods either fail to model near-field specular reflections or rely on explicit ray tracing at substantial computational cost. We present Ref-DGS, a reflective dual Gaussian splatting framework that addresses this trade-off by decoupling surface reconstruction from specular reflection within an efficient rasterization-based pipeline. Ref-DGS introduces a dual Gaussian scene representation consisting of geometry Gaussians and complementary local reflection Gaussians that capture near-field specular interactions without explicit ray tracing, along with a global environment reflection field for modeling far-field specular reflections. To predict specular radiance, we further propose a lightweight, physically-aware adaptive mixing shader that fuses global and local reflection features. Experiments demonstrate that Ref-DGS achieves state-of-the-art performance on reflective scenes while training substantially faster than ray-based Gaussian methods.

SSR-GS: Separating Specular Reflection in Gaussian Splatting for Glossy Surface ReconstructionNingjing Fan, Yiqun Wang
In recent years, 3D Gaussian splatting (3DGS) has achieved remarkable progress in novel view synthesis. However, accurately reconstructing glossy surfaces under complex illumination remains challenging, particularly in scenes with strong specular reflections and multi-surface interreflections. To address this issue, we propose SSR-GS, a specular reflection modeling framework for glossy surface reconstruction. Specifically, we introduce a prefiltered Mip-Cubemap to model direct specular reflections efficiently, and propose an IndiASG module to capture indirect specular reflections. Furthermore, we design Visual Geometry Priors (VGP) that couple a reflection-aware visual prior via a reflection score (RS) to downweight the photometric loss contribution of reflection-dominated regions, with geometry priors derived from VGGT, including progressively decayed depth supervision and transformed normal constraints. Extensive experiments on both synthetic and real-world datasets demonstrate that SSR-GS achieves state-of-the-art performance in glossy surface reconstruction.

Do Large Language Models Grasp The Grammar? Evidence from Grammar-Book-Guided Probing in LuxembourgishLujun Li, Yewei Song, Lama Sleem et al.
Grammar refers to the system of rules that governs the structural organization and the semantic relations among linguistic units such as sentences, phrases, and words within a given language. In natural language processing, there remains a notable scarcity of grammar focused evaluation protocols, a gap that is even more pronounced for low-resource languages. Moreover, the extent to which large language models genuinely comprehend grammatical structure, especially the mapping between syntactic structures and meanings, remains under debate. To investigate this issue, we propose a Grammar Book Guided evaluation pipeline intended to provide a systematic and generalizable framework for grammar evaluation consisting of four key stages, and in this work we take Luxembourgish as a case study. The results show a weak positive correlation between translation performance and grammatical understanding, indicating that strong translations do not necessarily imply deep grammatical competence. Larger models perform well overall due to their semantic strength but remain weak in morphology and syntax, struggling particularly with Minimal Pair tasks, while strong reasoning ability offers a promising way to enhance their grammatical understanding.

How Far Do Time Series Foundation Models Paint the Landscape of Real-World Benchmarks ?Lujun Li, Lama Sleem, Yiqun Wang et al.
Recent evaluations of time-series foundation models (TSFMs) have emphasized synthetic benchmarks, leaving real-world generalization less thoroughly examined. This work proposes a novel benchmarking approach that bridges synthetic and realistic data by extracting temporal signals from real-world video using optical flow and curating datasets reflecting everyday temporal dynamics. Building upon this pipeline, we introduce REAL-V-TSFM, a novel dataset designed to capture rich and diverse time series derived from real-world videos. Experimental results on three state-of-the-art of TSFMs under zero-shot forecasting shows that, despite strong performance on conventional benchmarks, these models predominantly exhibit performance degradation on the proposed dataset, indicating limited generalizability in these foundation models. These findings highlight the urgent need for data-centric benchmarking and diverse model structure to advance TSFMs toward genuine universality, while further validating the effectiveness of our video-based time series data extraction pipeline.

EAvatar: Expression-Aware Head Avatar Reconstruction with Generative Geometry PriorsShikun Zhang, Cunjian Chen, Yiqun Wang et al.
High-fidelity head avatar reconstruction plays a crucial role in AR/VR, gaming, and multimedia content creation. Recent advances in 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) have demonstrated effectiveness in modeling complex geometry with real-time rendering capability and are now widely used in high-fidelity head avatar reconstruction tasks. However, existing 3DGS-based methods still face significant challenges in capturing fine-grained facial expressions and preserving local texture continuity, especially in highly deformable regions. To mitigate these limitations, we propose a novel 3DGS-based framework termed EAvatar for head reconstruction that is both expression-aware and deformation-aware. Our method introduces a sparse expression control mechanism, where a small number of key Gaussians are used to influence the deformation of their neighboring Gaussians, enabling accurate modeling of local deformations and fine-scale texture transitions. Furthermore, we leverage high-quality 3D priors from pretrained generative models to provide a more reliable facial geometry, offering structural guidance that improves convergence stability and shape accuracy during training. Experimental results demonstrate that our method produces more accurate and visually coherent head reconstructions with improved expression controllability and detail fidelity.

Vision Transformer-Based Time-Series Image Reconstruction for Cloud-Filling ApplicationsLujun Li, Yiqun Wang, Radu State
Cloud cover in multispectral imagery (MSI) poses significant challenges for early season crop mapping, as it leads to missing or corrupted spectral information. Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) data, which is not affected by cloud interference, offers a complementary solution, but lack sufficient spectral detail for precise crop mapping. To address this, we propose a novel framework, Time-series MSI Image Reconstruction using Vision Transformer (ViT), to reconstruct MSI data in cloud-covered regions by leveraging the temporal coherence of MSI and the complementary information from SAR from the attention mechanism. Comprehensive experiments, using rigorous reconstruction evaluation metrics, demonstrate that Time-series ViT framework significantly outperforms baselines that use non-time-series MSI and SAR or time-series MSI without SAR, effectively enhancing MSI image reconstruction in cloud-covered regions.

MT-PCR: A Hybrid Mamba-Transformer with Spatial Serialization for Hierarchical Point Cloud RegistrationBingxi Liu, An Liu, Hao Chen et al.
Point cloud registration (PCR) is a fundamental task in 3D computer vision and robotics. Most existing learning-based PCR methods rely on Transformers, which suffer from quadratic computational complexity. This limitation restricts the resolution of point clouds that can be processed, inevitably leading to information loss. In contrast, Mamba-a recently proposed model based on state space models (SSMs)-achieves linear computational complexity while maintaining strong long-range contextual modeling capabilities. However, directly applying Mamba to PCR tasks yields suboptimal performance due to the unordered and irregular nature of point cloud data. To address this challenge, we propose MT-PCR, the first point cloud registration framework that integrates both Mamba and Transformer modules. Specifically, we serialize point cloud features using Z-order space-filling curves to enforce spatial locality, enabling Mamba to better model the geometric structure of the input. Additionally, we remove the order indicator module commonly used in Mamba-based sequence modeling, leads to improved performance in our setting. The serialized features are then processed by an optimized Mamba encoder, followed by a Transformer refinement stage. Extensive experiments on multiple benchmarks demonstrate that MT-PCR outperforms Transformer-based and concurrent state-of-the-art methods in both accuracy and efficiency, significantly reducing while GPU memory usage and FLOPs.

3D Surface Reconstruction with Enhanced High-Frequency DetailsShikun Zhang, Yiqun Wang, Cunjian Chen et al.
Neural implicit 3D reconstruction can reproduce shapes without 3D supervision, and it learns the 3D scene through volume rendering methods and neural implicit representations. Current neural surface reconstruction methods tend to randomly sample the entire image, making it difficult to learn high-frequency details on the surface, and thus the reconstruction results tend to be too smooth. We designed a method (FreNeuS) based on high-frequency information to solve the problem of insufficient surface detail. Specifically, FreNeuS uses pixel gradient changes to easily acquire high-frequency regions in an image and uses the obtained high-frequency information to guide surface detail reconstruction. High-frequency information is first used to guide the dynamic sampling of rays, applying different sampling strategies according to variations in high-frequency regions. To further enhance the focus on surface details, we have designed a high-frequency weighting method that constrains the representation of high-frequency details during the reconstruction process. Qualitative and quantitative results show that our method can reconstruct fine surface details and obtain better surface reconstruction quality compared to existing methods. In addition, our method is more applicable and can be generalized to any NeuS-based work.

NeuSD: Surface Completion with Multi-View Text-to-Image DiffusionSavva Ignatyev, Daniil Selikhanovych, Oleg Voynov et al.
We present a novel method for 3D surface reconstruction from multiple images where only a part of the object of interest is captured. Our approach builds on two recent developments: surface reconstruction using neural radiance fields for the reconstruction of the visible parts of the surface, and guidance of pre-trained 2D diffusion models in the form of Score Distillation Sampling (SDS) to complete the shape in unobserved regions in a plausible manner. We introduce three components. First, we suggest employing normal maps as a pure geometric representation for SDS instead of color renderings which are entangled with the appearance information. Second, we introduce the freezing of the SDS noise during training which results in more coherent gradients and better convergence. Third, we propose Multi-View SDS as a way to condition the generation of the non-observable part of the surface without fine-tuning or making changes to the underlying 2D Stable Diffusion model. We evaluate our approach on the BlendedMVS dataset demonstrating significant qualitative and quantitative improvements over competing methods.

Factored-NeuS: Reconstructing Surfaces, Illumination, and Materials of Possibly Glossy ObjectsYue Fan, Ningjing Fan, Ivan Skorokhodov et al.
We develop a method that recovers the surface, materials, and illumination of a scene from its posed multi-view images. In contrast to prior work, it does not require any additional data and can handle glossy objects or bright lighting. It is a progressive inverse rendering approach, which consists of three stages. In the first stage, we reconstruct the scene radiance and signed distance function (SDF) with a novel regularization strategy for specular reflections. We propose to explain a pixel color using both surface and volume rendering jointly, which allows for handling complex view-dependent lighting effects for surface reconstruction. In the second stage, we distill light visibility and indirect illumination from the learned SDF and radiance field using learnable mapping functions. Finally, we design a method for estimating the ratio of incoming direct light reflected in a specular manner and use it to reconstruct the materials and direct illumination. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the current state-of-the-art in recovering surfaces, materials, and lighting without relying on any additional data.

MGCN: Descriptor Learning using Multiscale GCNsYiqun Wang, Jing Ren, Dong-Ming Yan et al.
We propose a novel framework for computing descriptors for characterizing points on three-dimensional surfaces. First, we present a new non-learned feature that uses graph wavelets to decompose the Dirichlet energy on a surface. We call this new feature wavelet energy decomposition signature (WEDS). Second, we propose a new multiscale graph convolutional network (MGCN) to transform a non-learned feature to a more discriminative descriptor. Our results show that the new descriptor WEDS is more discriminative than the current state-of-the-art non-learned descriptors and that the combination of WEDS and MGCN is better than the state-of-the-art learned descriptors. An important design criterion for our descriptor is the robustness to different surface discretizations including triangulations with varying numbers of vertices. Our results demonstrate that previous graph convolutional networks significantly overfit to a particular resolution or even a particular triangulation, but MGCN generalizes well to different surface discretizations. In addition, MGCN is compatible with previous descriptors and it can also be used to improve the performance of other descriptors, such as the heat kernel signature, the wave kernel signature, or the local point signature.
