LOGCAN++: Adaptive Local-global class-aware network for semantic segmentation of remote sensing imagery

Xiaowen Ma, Rongrong Lian, Zhenkai Wu et al.

Remote sensing images usually characterized by complex backgrounds, scale and orientation variations, and large intra-class variance. General semantic segmentation methods usually fail to fully investigate the above issues, and thus their performances on remote sensing image segmentation are limited. In this paper, we propose our LOGCAN++, a semantic segmentation model customized for remote sensing images, which is made up of a Global Class Awareness (GCA) module and several Local Class Awareness (LCA) modules. The GCA module captures global representations for class-level context modeling to reduce the interference of background noise. The LCA module generates local class representations as intermediate perceptual elements to indirectly associate pixels with the global class representations, targeting at dealing with the large intra-class variance problem. In particular, we introduce affine transformations in the LCA module for adaptive extraction of local class representations to effectively tolerate scale and orientation variations in remotely sensed images. Extensive experiments on three benchmark datasets show that our LOGCAN++ outperforms current mainstream general and remote sensing semantic segmentation methods and achieves a better trade-off between speed and accuracy. Image-Plane Geometric Decoding for View-Invariant Indoor Scene Reconstruction

Mingyang Li, Yimeng Fan, Changsong Liu et al.

Volume-based indoor scene reconstruction methods offer superior generalization capability and real-time deployment potential. However, existing methods rely on multi-view pixel back-projection ray intersections as weak geometric constraints to determine spatial positions. This dependence results in reconstruction quality being heavily influenced by input view density. Performance degrades in overlapping regions and unobserved areas. To address these limitations, we reduce dependency on inter-view geometric constraints by exploiting spatial information within individual views. We propose an image-plane decoding framework with three core components: Pixel-level Confidence Encoder, Affine Compensation Module, and Image-Plane Spatial Decoder. These modules decode three-dimensional structural information encoded in images through physical imaging processes. The framework effectively preserves spatial geometric features including edges, hollow structures, and complex textures. It significantly enhances view-invariant reconstruction.Experiments on indoor scene reconstruction datasets confirm superior reconstruction stability. Our method maintains nearly identical quality when view count reduces by 40%. It achieves a coefficient of variation of 0.24%, performance retention rate of 99.7%, and maximum performance drop of 0.42%. These results demonstrate that exploiting intra-view spatial information provides a robust solution for view-limited scenarios in practical applications.

TSK Fuzzy System Towards Few Labeled Incomplete Multi-View Data Classification

Wei Zhang, Zhaohong Deng, Qiongdan Lou et al.

Data collected by multiple methods or from multiple sources is called multi-view data. To make full use of the multi-view data, multi-view learning plays an increasingly important role. Traditional multi-view learning methods rely on a large number of labeled and completed multi-view data. However, it is expensive and time-consuming to obtain a large number of labeled multi-view data in real-world applications. Moreover, multi-view data is often incomplete because of data collection failures, self-deficiency, or other reasons. Therefore, we may have to face the problem of fewer labeled and incomplete multi-view data in real application scenarios. In this paper, a transductive semi-supervised incomplete multi-view TSK fuzzy system modeling method (SSIMV_TSK) is proposed to address these challenges. First, in order to alleviate the dependency on labeled data and keep the model interpretable, the proposed method integrates missing view imputation, pseudo label learning of unlabeled data, and fuzzy system modeling into a single process to yield a model with interpretable fuzzy rules. Then, two new mechanisms, i.e. the bidirectional structural preservation of instance and label, as well as the adaptive multiple alignment collaborative learning, are proposed to improve the robustness of the model. The proposed method has the following distinctive characteristics: 1) it can deal with the incomplete and few labeled multi-view data simultaneously; 2) it integrates the missing view imputation and model learning as a single process, which is more efficient than the traditional two-step strategy; 3) attributed to the interpretable fuzzy inference rules, this method is more interpretable. Experimental results on real datasets show that the proposed method significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art methods.

Online Multi-horizon Transaction Metric Estimation with Multi-modal Learning in Payment Networks

Chin-Chia Michael Yeh, Zhongfang Zhuang, Junpeng Wang et al.

Predicting metrics associated with entities' transnational behavior within payment processing networks is essential for system monitoring. Multivariate time series, aggregated from the past transaction history, can provide valuable insights for such prediction. The general multivariate time series prediction problem has been well studied and applied across several domains, including manufacturing, medical, and entomology. However, new domain-related challenges associated with the data such as concept drift and multi-modality have surfaced in addition to the real-time requirements of handling the payment transaction data at scale. In this work, we study the problem of multivariate time series prediction for estimating transaction metrics associated with entities in the payment transaction database. We propose a model with five unique components to estimate the transaction metrics from multi-modality data. Four of these components capture interaction, temporal, scale, and shape perspectives, and the fifth component fuses these perspectives together. We also propose a hybrid offline/online training scheme to address concept drift in the data and fulfill the real-time requirements. Combining the estimation model with a graphical user interface, the prototype transaction metric estimation system has demonstrated its potential benefit as a tool for improving a payment processing company's system monitoring capability.
